(Mother shuts her eyes,

and feels with her hand the flowers near her)

“Grace,” Mother....

Oh, that....

(Mother opens her hands upwards

and plunges in)

I can’t speak.

Can’t speak anymore, can’t eat anymore.... And time goes by like lightning.

(Mother plunges in again)
